Smoking prevents parents
Cigarette packs have the words ‘smoking is bad for health’. But no cigarette packet says that smoking can ruin a man’s normal fertility.
A team of researchers at the University of Saarland in Germany recently reported that tobacco smoke contained a substance that could chemically alter the male genome. So men who want to be fathers should avoid smoking.
Biochemist Professor Matthias Montaner, a member of the research team, said that much more cotin was found in the semen of smokers than in others. Cotin is made from nicotine. This makes a huge difference between the sperm cells of smokers and non-smokers. Due to which many smokers are unable to give birth to children.
